The historic Jackson Town Square

Our Partners: We can’t do it all

Since its inception in 2020, Teton Trust for Historic Places has secured and now manages seven easements. In 2021 the Town of Jackson, Wyoming created a Historic Preservation Program, including a new Jackson Historic Register, as well as preservation incentives.

Despite the best efforts of our hard-working group and the following partners, the rate of property demolition/sales and the time needed to properly execute historic easements make it impossible for the Trust to keep pace. Please consider joining our efforts to preserve community character in the Town of Jackson and in Teton County, Wyoming.

Community Foundation of Jackson Hole

Community Foundation of Jackson Hole

The Community Foundation of Jackson Hole improves lives through philanthropic leadership. For over 30 years, the Foundationhas leveraged local philanthropy to make nonprofits more effective and our community stronger. Addressing critical community needs, the Foundation administers various grant programs and supports organizations based on impact and capacity. The Community Foundation of Jackson Hole manages over $100 million in assets and our annual event, Old Bill’s Fun Run, has raised over $200 million for local nonprofits. Since inception, donors have relied on the Foundation’s experienced staff to assist with their current and planned giving. We provide insight about community needs, due diligence, and simplified administration. Funds at the Community Foundation are carefully guarded, prudently invested, and wisely used.

History Jackson Hole

History Jackson Hole tells the stories of Jackson Hole that connect people to the history of this valley and region. We steward and share artifacts and ideas that foster curiosity and continual learning, forge connections, and inform our 21st century dialogue.

History Jackson Hole’s work is implemented through the Jackson Hole History Museum, an extensive youth and adult education program, and their collection and research center.

Jackson Hole Land Trust

The Jackson Hole Land Trust’s mission is to protect and steward the treasured landscapes of Northwest Wyoming. Our vision is a legacy of protected open spaces, wildlife habitat, working lands, and community spaces across Northwest Wyoming that inspire current and future generations.

Teton County Historic Preservation Board

The Teton County Historic Preservation Board exists to identify, protect, and preserve Teton County’s architectural and archaeological heritage to ensure respectful planning and development that preserves our sense of place and community character. The TCHPB envisions a community where vital historic properties exist in concert with new development. Community members and local governments recognize the value and power of historic preservation and implement effective preservation policies and practices.

Town of Jackson

In February, 2021, the Town of Jackson adopted a Historic Preservation Program to preserve historic structures in the Town. The program includes the Jackson Historic Register, a voluntary program that always requires the consent of the landowner.

If a Jackson Historic Register listed property is also under a Teton Trust Historic Preservation Easement, the property may be eligible for development incentives.

Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office

The Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office documents, preserves, and promotes Wyoming’s heritage with our preservation partners.
