Teton Trust offers Historic Preservation Easement Appraisal Training scholarships

JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton Trust for Historic Places offers a new scholarship program for professionals interested in the Appraisal Institute’s course, Historic Preservation Easements: Appraisal Techniques and Valuation Issues.

This one-day, virtual course is offered twice this month: March 21 from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. and March 24 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Central Time (7 a.m.–3 p.m. Mountain Time). Two scholarships will be awarded for the March classes. Preference will be given to licensed appraisers.

Interested parties who cannot attend the March 2022 classes are encouraged to contact Teton Trust for additional training opportunities.

Teton Trust for Historic Places holds historic preservation easements in Teton County, WY. Teton Trust’s first three easements are held on the Genevieve Block historic buildings, and more easements are anticipated in the future. These historic easements will require specialized appraisal strategies to qualify the easement’s value as a charitable contribution for a Federal Income Tax deduction.
